Management Team

 

Richard Harbison
Executive Vice President

Mr. Harbison joined LCS in 1999 and today oversees the management team, with responsibility for all branches of the operation including facility operations, personnel, quality management, purchasing, contract compliance and client liaison.

Mr. Harbison's career began in the Chicago area with the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department where he spent his first seven years at the county correctional center. He later moved into patrol and then to Vice & Narcotics. Prior to his tenture at LCS, Mr. Harbison served as General Manager and Vice President for a large conglomerate of television stations. Mr. Harbison has over 25 years of combined corrections and business management experience.

 

 

Dr. Gary Copes
Vice President, Corrections

Dr. Copes has been with LCS since 1994. His responsibilities include direct oversight of all wardens, staff performance, facility adherence to polices and procedures, training and facility operations. Dr. Copes also writes, implements and evaluates all Guideline and Operational Manuals.

Prior to joining LCS, Dr. Copes served as Chief of Police for Lafayette, Louisiana and has nearly 30 years of service in law enforcement. In 1991 he received his Ph.D. in Psychology & Education. He also holds the Certified Corrections Executive (CCE) designation from the American Correctional Association.

 

 

Daniel Slone
Director of Operations

Mr. Slone joined LCS in 2007. His responsibilities include budgeting, financial analysis, purchasing, insurance and risk management, employee benefits, human resources policy development and oversight of the company's information technology. Along with Mr. Harbison and Mr. Copes, he conducts frequent facility visits to monitor operations.

Previously Mr. Slone worked for a national locksmith and security franchise system, first as Vice President and Director of Franchise Operations for the franchisor, and later as Chief Financial Officer for the system's largest franchisee. Mr. Slone holds the Master of Business Administration degree and has over 16 years of management experience. He also serves as an infantry senior noncommissioned officer in the Louisiana Army National Guard with over 12 years of service and is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran.

Mr. Slone and the 256th Infantry Brigade have recently been called up for active duty in Iraq.  We are looking forward to his return in January 2010.  Mr. Richard Harbison will handle any questions or requests.
